What we take:

Double Exposure takes both NEW and PRE-OWNED items on consignment from the following designers and more:

St John, Escada, Roberto Cavalli, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Gucci, Yves St. Laurent, Christian Dior, Prada, Thierry Mugler, Chanel, Moschino, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Badgley Mischka, Alberta Ferretti, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Hermes, Fendi, Manolo Blahnik, Juicy Couture, Judith Lieber, Bottega Veneta, Sue Wong, Richard Tyler, Diane Von Furstenberg, Chloe, Jimmy Choo,Donna Karan,GianFranco Ferre, Karl Lagerfeld, Valentino, Salvadore Ferragamo,Giuseppe Zanotti, Jill Sander, Stella McCartney, Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, Casadei, Michael Kors, Emanuel Ungaro, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Premium Denim Designers (such as Rock & Republic, Seven for all Mankind, AG Adriano Goldschmied, Paper Denim and Cloth, Chip & Pepper, Joe’s Jeans, Diesel), Furriers, and many other fine American and European Designers. 

We accept high end designers that you would find at better retail stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Ave., Bloomingdales, Barney’s, Nordstrom and exclusive boutiques such as ones you would find on Michigan Ave. or Oak St. in Chicago. If you are unsure about a specific designer, please consult with us.

Items We Do NOT Accept:

We do not accept any items from the following or similar designers:
Gap, Abercombie, Ann Taylor, Anne Klein, Liz Claiborne, Jones New York, DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Polo, Polo Sport, Chico’s,Coldwater Creek, etc.

We will NOT under any circumstances accept any type of “knockoff”, “copy”, “counterfeit” or “designer inspired” item. All items will be verified for authenticity. You may be asked to provide documentation in the form of original tags, authenticity cards, or store receipts.

General Conditions:

All items must be free of stains, holes, or any type of damage or odors. Overly worn or faded items are not accepted.

They should be consigned in cleaned and excellent wearable condition.

Condition of Merchandise Acceptance:
Double Exposure Elite Resale (aka Double Exposure) specializes in high-end designer/ couture women’s clothing and accessories. Items for consignment are accepted in new or like new condition. Please refer to our List of Designers for guidelines on who we take and don’t accept.

All merchandise should be cleaned, free of stains, tears, odors, or other damage. All DESIGNER LABELS, buttons and zippers should be intact and in good working condition. If an item needs to be cleaned or repaired, it will be done at the consignor’s expense. By consigning or leaving items for consignment the consignor understands that Double Exposure may not see and/ or recognize any stains, damage, or alterations at the time that the items are accepted. Double Exposure may return any items to the consignor that is not noticed upon or after check-in. Pickup terms and conditions apply as indicated under Pick-ups.

Authenticity of Merchandise:
Only original, authentic designer items are accepted. We will NOT under any circumstances accept any type of “knockoff”, “copy”, “counterfeit” or “designer inspired” item. All items will be verified for authenticity. You may be asked to provide documentation in the form of original tags, authenticity cards, or store receipts.

Consignment Period:
The consignment period shall include, but is not limited to the following: Merchandise (hear after known as consignment) received shall be inventoried and a “Consignment List” shall be given to the consignor via mail or email. Due to the complexity of our listing process, amount of consignment waiting for listing, and seasonal considerations; consignment could take up to six months to be listed. Every reasonable attempt will be made by Double Exposure to list your consignment as quickly as possible. Once the item has been listed, it will be offered at auction through eBay for a maximum of 3 seven day auction cycles. Exceptional items may be offered differently after discussion between consignor and Double Exposure. All listed items are also available for purchase in our store by our walk in customers. Once the item has sold, the consignor will receive 50% of the selling price minus the internet posting and final value fees. If the item has not sold after 3 auction cycles, it will be placed in our Double Exposure website with a buy it now price. The item will still remain available to our walk in customers. The consignment will be available in our website for the remaining consignment period to be determined by Double Exposure. All listing fees are the responsibility of the consignor and must be paid prior to the return of any unsold merchandise. Double Exposure reserves the right to return items at any time during or prior to the expiration of the consignment period.

Pricing:
Double Exposure reserves the right to determine prices and markdowns at any time without consulting the consignor. Our pricing is based on research that determines original retail value and comparable secondary resale market values. Our goal is to sell your consignment for the highest resale price possible; however many factors effect pricing and sale ability of the consignment item.

Consignment Pick-ups and Returns:
Consignor’s may pick-up their item(s) anytime after the end of the 3 eBay auction cycles and with a 1 week notice given to our staff. Any time that Double Exposure decides to return items to consignor’s it will do so by notifying the consignor by telephone and/or email provided on their account. It is the consignor’s responsibility to notify Double Exposure of any changes to personal contact information. Double Exposure does not provide storage for any items not accepted for sale or being returned to consignor. Double Exposure reserves the right with this agreement to donate items not picked up by the consignor after 10 days of their initial pickup notice.  Any unsold items 6 months or older from date of drop off will be donated; unless prior arrangements have been made.

Liability of Consignment:
Double Exposure makes their best effort to sell and care for all consignments. However, all consignments are left at the owner's risk. Double Exposure is not responsible for loss by theft, fire, water, handling, damages caused by a customer trying an item on, or any other cause. Consignors will maintain their own insurance during consignment period.

Payment to Consignors:
Payment to a consignor will occur quarterly or when consignment sales exceed $100.00 dollars. Payout on high end designer handbags and select items will occur 90 days after clearance of Pay Pal's chargeback policy.

Indemnification:
If any item purchased or consigned from a consignor for resale to the public is found to be counterfeit and Double Exposure is found liable for the sale of the counterfeit item, or if Double Exposure incurred any liability from such an item, the consignor agrees to indemnify Double Exposure for any damages that Double Exposure may have or may perhaps assume.

Update of Terms and Conditions:
The terms and conditions of this agreement may be updated at the discretion of Double Exposure. Double Exposure will notify the consignor and allow a 45 day grace period from notification. By continuing to consign after the effective date on the new Terms and conditions you are agreeing to the new terms and conditions.

Expiration of Contract and Terms:
The Consignor contract including all terms and conditions has no expiration date as long as the Consignor account is open and valid. Double Exposure reserves the right to close a Consignor account at any time without prior notice to the consignor. All closed accounts are bound by the terms and conditions that were in effect at the time the account was effective.
